No Storm

Everyone was dreading the Typhoon Parma coming in the Philippines last night and today. The extra precaution taken lead to the declaration of a State of Calamity in the whole country, people were sent home earlier than usual, major panic buying in the groceries leading to shortages of basic necessities, excessive text messages, twits, and FB statuses regarding the typhoon and many more.

I woke up today with elation since it felt like it was a normal rainy day. I opened my Facebook and received news that the storm changed its direction a bit so the effect is not too destructive — in Metro Manila at least. I felt a sense of relief that we won’t feel an Ondoy-like catastrophe, but I also felt conned as well by nature. Really, it’s not something I’m really worrying about. All’s good.
