The Hurt Locker

First of all, happy new year! It’s a start of 2010 and it’s a start of my movie list once again.

The first one in my list is The Hurt Locker, a gripping drama set in Iraq. This has been receiving critical acclaim and it will be one of the front runners in the upcoming awards season. I’m not really surprised with it because of the brilliant direction of Kathryn Bigelow and the riveting performance of Jeremy Ranner. On the flipside, it made me realize how much I dislike war movies – there’s really no fun that you can get out of it. It’s depressing, and pretty much in-your-face nonchalant shit.
